Why is Video So Scary?

Can we talk about fear? I mean, can I cut through the BS and share some real-talk about being afraid of videos?

In this video, I share my thoughts on why it’s so easy to let fears get in our way when it comes to making videos.

And, it’s not hyperbole. This fear stuff is real!

I was on a call with one of my clients recently and she was explaining the reasons she didn’t get her video done and out there. The crux of it was that she was procrastinating – which she admitted to.

But, when I asked her what fear was fueling her procrastination, she denied it. She was adamant that fear had nothing to do with it.

Fear is always behind procrastination!

We dug a bit deeper and sure enough, with some excavation, we unearthed the truth.

Fear of judgment. Fear of failure.

Both of them were hiding behind the veil of procrastination and when she faced the truth, there were tears. Yes, tears.

I’m telling you this because I want you to know that facing your fears is hard. That admitting you have fears is hard. That being an amazingly accomplished entrepreneur with years of experience does not preclude you from having fear stop you in your tracks when it comes to video.

In fact, I think the more impressive you are, the harder it is to admit that fear is standing in your way.

If you take one thing away from this video I hope it’s this – fear is normal BUT that doesn’t mean it gets to win. The only way to conquer it is to acknowledge it (yes, even if it hurts your ego a bit) and face it head-on.

Let me say this again – there is NO SHAME in being afraid!

So, let’s name our fears, face them, and slay them!

If you’re ready to take the next, brave step then post your thoughts on my Facebook post.

Fearlessness is not an absence of fear, it’s being afraid and doing it anyway.
