Are You Pretty Enough to Do Videos?

“I’m not pretty enough to do videos.”

Someone actually told me this when I explained that I help female entrepreneurs get confident with video marketing.

And, she believed it. To her core. I could see that she saw it as a totally valid reason for her to be missing out on the BIGGEST way to promote her business. With a shrug, she was basically saying, ‘well, what can you do – I’d like to be using the most effective marketing tool available but I’m just not good looking enough.

So, never mind, I’ll just sit back and let my business grow slowly while other (more ‘attractive people’) reach their goals faster with video…’ I mean, I don’t know if that’s what she was thinking but that is exactly what her actions were telling me.

And, I get it. I do. I really do. I struggle with this too. A LOT of women do because we’ve been conditioned to judge others and ourselves on looks for a long, long time. On top of that, we’re trapped in the beauty myth; stuck in the confines of unrealistic (and sexist) culturally dictated beauty standards. Gah!

But, we do have a choice and it’s not to get plastic surgery or obsess over the length of our lashes or the arch of our brows… it’s to reject this limiting belief.

Yes, you can.

In this video, I do my very best to convince you to let go of beauty as being relevant or a barrier to your video marketing success. Click play and let me know if you’re feeling freer to get yourself in front of the camera!
